“Barolo DOCG 2019 Margheria Massolino – 97
Intense, shimmering ruby. Inviting nose with notes of rose petals, ripe dark cherries, raspberry and some cardamom. Lots of vivid, dense tannin, very well integrated with fine ripe texture, spreads long, salty. (…)

Barolo DOCG 2017 Vigna Rionda Riserva Massolino – 98
Bright ruby red with shiny core. Elegant nose, also red-cheeked apple, minimal hint of peach, then raspberries, cranberries, in the echo a touch of precious wood and sealing wax. Tense on the palate, builds slowly, with compact tannin and clear fruit, seems very deep, finish of salt and great juiciness, very long.”

“As for the tastings, I can conclude that 2019 is a truly exceptional vintage, in absolute terms one of the best of the last 40 years, comparable to 1982, 1988, 1996, 1997 and of course 2016. Barolo DOCG Parussi 2019 Massolino – 97+
The first Barolo of Massolino that was born outside the ‘borders’ of Serralunga,
in Castiglione Falletto, with a very refined vinification. Nose of dogwood,
touches of peony, closure with hints of fresh rosemary. The mouthfeel is 97 crisp, with brackish tannins. Finish with fruity after-aroma. (…)

Barolo DOCG Margheria 2019 Massolino – 96+
From vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba and calcareous-sandy soils. The nose is multifaceted, red cherry, touches of undergrowth, hints of
rosehip and clementine peel. The mouthfeel is taut and vertical, with a nice hint of mentholated, salty and fine tannins, nice persistence and density of taste, with a return of fruity sensations. (…)

Barolo DOCG Parafada 2019 Massolino – 96
One of the most typical crus of Serralunga d’Alba, old vineyards, with medium-textured soils and a strong presence of limestone. The nose has notes of pomegranate, menthol, star anise and a floral finish, with notes of carnation. The taste has brackish-sapid tannins, with a mentholated-spicy return.”
